We need volunteers

Hey there. It's been two weeks or so since the new XY site was re-launched. I've been steadily adding content, and I've got a whole bunch more to upload. (It's my procrastination when my writing bogs down.) As you can see, I'm turning my own, habitual collecting of materials on men and masculinities into an online clearinghouse.

Anyway, I'm writing because XY needs your help. I invited people in my last blog to:

  • Send in your writing, reports, guides, and images
  • Become a regular or guest blogger
  • Add a link to XY on your own site or blog
  • Spread the word
  • Volunteer to help
  • Make a donation

One of the simplest things you can sign up to do is to help add content. As I mentioned, I've got about 40 or 50 further guides, manuals, and publications on men and gender I'd like to add to XY. It's easy to do so, but it just takes time. So I'm hoping that some people may sign up to help. It's easy. I'll make the files available online via a 'drop' site (or I can do it the old-fashioned way, e-mailing attachments or even sending you a CD). I'll send some simple instructions, and away you'd go. I look forward to hearing from you.

On other news, XY now has three bloggers lined up, with one (Julian Real) contributing regularly and the other two starting soon.

... (Now September 21st) I've now written a more detailed outline of how volunteers can contribute to XY, here

Cheers,

michael flood.

What an excellent site. Well done all concerned. Readers might like to note that a small group of us here in Nottingham (UK) are working on developing psychosocial perspectives on men and masculinity issues. We look forward to taking part in the blog and welcome comments and enquiries.

Best wishes.
