How men can support gender equality is a topic that is rarely talked about. Over the last decade, I researched how men as senior leader and middle managers support gender equality in the work context. My book ‘Men Stepping Forward – Leading Your Organisation on the Path to Inclusion’ shows some practical steps men can take to become change agents for gender equality.

In the book I show how men can develop a vision for gender equality and communicate this vision. I also show how men can create an enabling environment to foster gender equality, which includes dealing with resistance. Finally, I show how men can become role models for gender-inclusive leadership (see also this article in The Conversation). This might entail mentoring or sponsoring a woman or calling out practices that lead to gender inequality.

Men who want to become change agents for gender inclusion but are not sure where to start will get inspiration on how they can start on this journey. Men who have embarked on the path to inclusive leadership but want to get better at it will also profit from the book. The book is full of practical tips, examples and anecdotes that can help men to become change makers for gender inclusion.
